If the LAN connection or the wireless one is not useful, you can delete it, and there will be no harm. However, institutions like schools and companies need it because there are many computers connected. These products are tremendously helpful since their inception.
However, their use kept decreasing, and today they are hardly used for wireless connections, although it is not to say they are useless. You can search for installed programs and see if they are present. If yes, then there is a probability that your system could be using them. Also, if they are not causing you any problems, you should leave them there.
On the other hand, if you have not yet installed them and your system is operating properly, you don’t need them. According to many users, this software does not cause any disturbance, but if you uninstall it and your system starts to act out, you need to reinstall it.
What to consider before Removing the Cisco Modules
Before removing the Cisco modules, ask yourself the questions below and answer them:
- Have you been using the CISCO modules, or did you use them earlier?
- Are connected to the domain network?
- Did you experience recent changes in the system before the issue?
If you have not been connected to a domain network, you have not used the Cisco modules before, then it is time to delete the software, and there will be no issues.
Installation
If you uninstall the Cisco module and your system does not work properly, you can install it manually. Also, if after installation your system is still not working properly, you need to follow these steps through installation:
- Download the Cisco EAP-FAST.reg file and create an ECP node.
- Once the download is complete, double-tap on it, then install.
- The software creates registry entries; hence you don’t have to do it.
Once the installation is complete, it is time to install relevant drivers for the software.
The ECP nodes will be created in 10 -15 minutes, after which they should be on your taskbar or in your installed programs and features folder. Open your device manager, select the ECPNode, then right-click on it to perform an update.
